Lambing Room
Our lambing room, is a designated space within the practice grounds where ewes and goats give birth to their lambs and where the newborn lambs can be cared for during the lambing season. Our lambing room is well-equipped to ensure the health and well-being of both the ewes and their newborn lambs.
We ensure the lambing room is clean, well-ventilated, and free from hazards that could harm the ewes or newborn lambs. With adequate lighting to assist with lambing procedures day or night.
Have a supply of essential lambing equipment, including obstetrical instruments, disinfectants, lubricants, towels, and ropes for assisting with lambing if needed. We are able to perform caesarean sections in our large animal theatre.
We Implement strict hygiene and biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases within the lambing room and throughout the flock. And have established protocols for handling and disposing of afterbirth and waste materials. We provide a designate a workspace for veterinary procedures, record-keeping, and general maintenance. All our animals will have their own records to maintain accurate records of lambing dates, ewe health, lambing outcomes, and any medical treatments or interventions. By creating a well-designed and properly equipped lambing room is essential to ensure the health and safety of ewes and their newborn lambs.
